Home waters for members of the Norwalk Sail & Power Squadron are those surrounding the beautiful Norwalk Islands on the Connecticut coast of Long Island Sound in Fairfield County, about 50 miles from New York City.

Founded in 1935, Norwalk Sail & Power Squadron is a non-profit boating organization. It is part of District 2 of the United States Power Squadrons® whose territory comprises the area shown on the map below, right. There are 20 squadrons in District 2, located from just west of the Housatonic River in Connecticut on the shores of Long Island Sound and from Westchester County north to the Lake Champlain region in New York. All squadrons in District 2 get together several times a year to plan events and enjoy good times. There are several events annually, including two cruises/rendezvous and lots of good times. Local sail & power squadrons offer boating classes to the general public and advanced course to each other. We have a good group of people who generate an enthusiastic awareness of boating and boating safety to the community and enjoy camaraderie and good times with others who love to "mess about in boats." Whether a sailor, a power boater, or a kayaker; whether you race, day cruise, or enjoy extended cruising, there's a place for you as a member of the Norwalk Sail & Power Squadron. |
